How the sit in began

On February 1,1960 four African American students from Technical College North Carolina sat down at Wool worth's store in Greensboro Carolina. They went to order coffee, but the restaurants policy was to serve only whites no African Americans.  So the four men stayed there all night refusing to move until they got served. They felt that it was not right. This then began the sit in of 1960. The next day more than twenty African American's students joined the sit in.
